The Band Members

Kat

Kat will call the dances and explain everything you need to know: from easy dances for complete novices to more complex dances for the more experienced dancers.

Kat plays the fiddle in the band, but she can also play the flute, whistles, banjo, concertina, hurdy gurdy and can get a tune out of a set of uilleann pipes.

She has been an Irish dancer since a young age and has been part of the group Absolutely legless for over 20 years touring internationally.

It will also be Ket you’ll speak to if you want to contact us with any questions or bookings.

Andrew

Andrew plays the fiddle and keeps the tunes going.

He began his musical journey at the age of 8, starting with violin lessons at school. By 16, he was already performing for musical theatre productions. It was during his university years that he encountered traditional musicians for the first time. This marked the beginning of his deepening interest in traditional music, blending Scottish and Irish styles. His passion for traditional music grew further when he joined the band accompanying Absolutely Legless Irish dancers. Today, Andrew regularly performs for dance events with TheCeilidh.Band and appears at festivals with the group 2nd Leg.

Mikey

Mikey plays either the djembe or the drum kit, depending on the ceilidh. With over 25 years of experience, he has worked professionally as a drummer, multi-instrumentalist, sound engineer, and producer. Mikey has been involved in a wide range of collaborations as a musician, writer, theatre musical director, and arranger, working with original songwriters from Scotland, Ghana, Senegal, Brazil, Spain, and many others.

Sean Paul

Sean Paul plays piano and guitar. He’s also a singer. His driving rhythm will keep you dancing.

Sean Paul’s life has always revolved around music. Skilled in guitar, keyboard and vocals, he has performed rock, pop and folk music from a young age.
